Hello and welcome to the very small mark we are leaving on humanity. Jen and I have been living together for over 10 years. Wow, it is hard to believe it has been that long. We meet in the summer of 1991 when she was a volunteer for me at the AIDS Walk San Francisco. She did not get a good impression of me as she thought I did not like her. We lost touch for a few years and met again volunteering for the same organization. In passing someone mentioned that she was looking for a roommate and both of us just laughed at the thought of living together. We decided to give it a try. I think both of us thought it was only temporary and look what happened. Ten years later and still going strong!Â
We have been through a lot over the last ten years, all the way from our quaint little apartment in Noe Valley to moving into Belhaven Manor in Daly City. We have had a lot of laughs as well as shed a few tears over the years. In Noe Valley we had the little old lady who one day would want us to come in and visit because she was lonely to the next day when she thought we were out to get her. At times she even asked us to bring down our babies, Rikki and Lexy (cats), to visit which she almost strangled in her grip to hold on to them with her little arthritic old hands. It was really sad the day they took her away because she was ill. That was the last time we saw her. Her doctor who we wound up suing because he was a slum lord inherited the building and we soon moved to Daly City to Jen’s mother’s house. Jen lost her mother to cancer in the fall of 2002.Â
Last year Jen and I took our first real vacation. It was Jen’s first trip out of the country and we went all the way to Africa. What a way to get her feet wet! It was very exciting and she now has the travel bug. We are headed off to Australia this summer where we will with visit many different parts of the country and ending with diving the Great Barrier Reef. Jen and I took scuba lessons and are now certified open water divers in preparation for this trip. Another hobby like we need something else to take more of our time. We plan on using this website to update everyone on our travels through Australia and keep in touch with everyone.Â

Trust me…the rest of us who know you “get” the 10 year thing. In fact, if it were not for a few “plumbing attraction issues” the two of you should just get married, become miserable and seperate…like the rest of the folks in the United States. Now…that would be a blog I would love to read. As I am sure that Jenn would include every single detail down to the color of your shoes as you walked out the door and told her to kiss your keister.
Not to be out done…or show my ever growing envy of your world travels…but I to have the travel bug. It includes from my home is SF to beautiful San Jose. That lovely 280 drive is something that can only be compared to one of the 7 wonders of the world. Since every day…I wonder…why the hell do I drive this far to get to work.
So…let me know when the wedding plans are…I just have a mental picture of 4 people on the altar. 3 men and one woman. A double wedding! You know it will happen. That is my prediction for the future. I have 50 bucks placed on it happening with 5 years. If for no other reason then for me to stop having to read and witness the two of you bickering like little old spinster sisters who have lived with each other since they were 20.
I know…I know…you love me and appreciate my optimistic view of life. Stop already with the compliments.
